we are pupils at Rugerero primary

We are pupils of Rugerero Primary. We are unlikely to become lawyers, neurologists or concert pianists. When we come home from school, we have to cut some grass for the cows, get water from the stream,, collect fire wood for cooking... This is our home work. When we are at school, we can be children, we could be naughty if we wanted, but we are not.
We learn about the history of our country; we are warned about the dangers of malaria and HIV-Aids, we are told that we should protect our gorillas. We hear that in some parts of the world they have snow but no gorillas.
We are some of the 1600 children here, most of our mums and dads never went to school and never suspected snow...
