Hello, creatures of the WWW, beings of the virtual brotherhood...
We are never online, but often on land
WE have no email address,
We have no home address either.
We follow no blogs,
We follow our cows.
We live on the same planet as you,
But perhaps in a different reality.
Our life expectancy is about one third shorter
Than the average blogger.
We walk an average of 15 kilometres a day
And are far less likely to be affected
By obesity than by sero positivity.
We have a lot of children,
Because we have no electricity
And are in bed by seven.
We are couples,
Bond together
By a mixture of love and necessity.
Our heads are free from
So many unnecessary complexities;
Our eyes have beheld
A very narrow range of technological diversity.
They have retained the candour
Of profound simplicity
Our hands often become one
With the handles of our hoes...
We hesitate,
We fluctuate...
Whether to beg you to leave us alone,
Or bring us modems and modernity...
